Chinese Television Runs World War II Many Times a Day

World War II is playing multiple times a day on Chinese television. Just in case Chinese forget how much they hate the Japanese, they are referred to as the guizi (devil) in the teleplays and are always doing the most barbaric things. There are a couple of things to know if you watch these shows (and they are available 24 hours a day on free apps you can download to your computer here in the good old USA. However they're in Mandarin, with no subtitles, so your Chinese has to be good)
Firstly, the most beautiful woman with the most regal bearing is the Communist spy working within the Kuomintang operation. This organization is run by Jiang Jie Shi (Chiang kai-shek) and is dedicated to killing communists and never having to fight the Japanese (the guys who have invaded China and love killing Chinese citizens.)
It's interesting that after the war Mao was  asked if he hated the Japanese. He said no, that without them, the Kuomintang would have killed all the communists. If you watch the war progress, Chiang  kai-shek runs further and further to the West, ending up in Chongqing, a place that has never been called the garden spot of China. If he retreated any further, he would be in Burma.
Since in the end no one in power in China really wanted to fight the Japanese, America drops nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and Japanese soldiers have to go home because Emperor Hirohito says it's over. Now the Kuomintang and communists can kill each other without the guizi getting in the way.

Parental Love

Love for a child, when you accept the responsibility of a lifetime commitment to it, is probably the one time you get to have a pure emotion. While secretly you hope for emotional reciprocity, you give your love and support no matter what. You love because you have no other choice. That love will be one of the last things you will feel when your time on this mortal coil comes to an end. When you add up your accomplishments, it goes in a special category. I always am angry at the men who walk away, sure in the knowledge it's an evil decision and one that prevents them from becoming a complete human being. They are forever cut off from a feeling they don't even realize would have made them better, and wander the world with walls around them that they never see, but keeps them from ever completely maturing.
